Why would you Tom?

It’s numb on 3/8.

Joe has nailed the perfect combo, Stihl 150 10” bar with Stihl 57 dl chain.

I’m currently running 1/4 43gauge on a panther bar

I’m wondering how it would run on a 3/8 narrow Kerf. While I am perfectly able to sharpen the 1/4 I’d like to know how it cuts with 3/8 43g as that must be easier to sharpen

I heard the standard Echo 1/4 10" bar is just a rebadged Sugihara, any truth in this?

Certainly looks like a Sugi, lasting well too.

Yep correct it's a Sugi bar - and it only runs the Sugi A4S chain. A bit of a PITA as we still have a load of these bars almost 3 years old with no chain we can put on them.

I still don't know why they did this other than the obvious if we make the chain exclusive to our bars then it'll force people to use it. Even more annoying the Sugi A4S does not run on the Stihl 1/4 picco sprockets like the MS150/151 has. But got a plan now for all the 10" Sugi bars we bought - going to get a load of 57 drive link Sugi chains and then you'll be able to use these on the Echo 2511s.

We are ordering more of the Sugi A4S but looking at 6-7 months now production lead times [from 2 months before Covid times].

Life is a compromise - yes you can run easier to sharpen chain but it won't cut so well. But maybe the cutting would be ok so best thing is to try it and then make a decision as to what works best for you.

So the rollamatic e mini light  fits the same as the standard mini bar with a plus one DL

All the small mount Stihl bars will fit the Echo 2511. They have the gap that leads from the tension hole into the bar groove.

And yes you need only to add a drive link and they work fine.
