You can push it with a 30” bar for milling,
Though you’ll only get 24” cut.
I’ve heard of guys using 461’s with 36” bars and full skip chain felling the big softwoods stateside.
Weighs considerably less than a 660/661 etc

How highly do you rate the 660 soul (milling) 48" bar as been offered one at a decent price

It’s a good saw, the 661 is better.
A 660 will have trouble with a 48” bar, unless it’s a full skip or hyperskip.
Better with a 30” bar.
Or just get an 881 [emoji6][emoji106]

To be honest i am 50/50 on a new bandsaw mill or getting an 881. I have moved everything across to my workshop and have around 180m2 room so not huge but no rent and i own it plus my joinery shop along with 3 phase power is all in one place

They will pull a 30” bar buried in oak.
But as Steve says 25” is best.
Brilliant bit of kit.
Oiling is no problem.
Filter is no problem either.
Although I would reccomend an 881 instead now.

An 881, probably easier to get, yet another place I looked has gone out of 461 's.

Nothing bad to say about my 461? sweet for falling, chogging, milling you name it. 500i even stays in the truck these days...or at least until I can find a full wrap for it?20201101_134418.thumb.jpg.a82a74ad4844e772515389dcde64e99c.jpg

Yours is rather nice I'll admit. Has it been modded? Long time since I tried it?
