Scots pine.

Hello all, 

 Is there any market for millable Scots pine? I have been to look at a job doing final thinning. It's only a small job, might be a couple of loads. In West Sussex. I can't seem to drum up much interest in chip or logs. 

 Any thoughts or ideas welcome.

Yeah I understand all the potential uses! It's just finding someone who wants to buy it!

What diameters and lengths?
Price for roadside?
Where are you advertising?
Can you deliver small 1-5ton loads?
As there’s a lot of people with small mill setups now looking for logs.

advertise or cut it in section sizes that you don't get at the timber yard. they tend to stop at 4" thick stock.

5x5 or 6x6 newel posts.

You could try Rob Quinten, Felled wood haulage. He would place it for you.

At the moment I am just trying to get an idea of the market. I have spoken to a couple of guys with Mills but from what they were telling me its very prone to staining which puts a lot of people off.

I don't have a mill anymore, I will be looking to sell at Roadside.
