Grinder in chipper

Recommended Posts

I'm getting an Iveco Daily 35c14 (yeee haaaa) which can tow up to 3 tons, so I'm thinking why not put some of my kit on to the chipper... then I see this....

Check it out at about 0.50 seconds. Is that a grinder in the chipper I see? Whats the legality on this. Is it a hi-viz attached to the unit if it sticks out too much jobbie.

How about some other ideas on attaching saws and kit to the chipper. Kind of helps with the overloading of the truck I reckon.

thats a tiny grinder inside the hopper of a huge chipper, and its getting towed by a big truck, if you are going to try and do this with an iveco, jensen and carlton i think your going to be disapointed lol.

Looks like a little grinder. Can't see a problem with the legality as long as it's secure. Going to alter the noseweight of the chipper tho which could cause towing problems eg weaving.

What you'd have to watch is the train weight once you've a load of chip. Don't know what the train weight of your setup would be.

Agree with Mr Shrekie, its a good set up but like stevie said thats one bad ass chipper and a standard grinder.

i know guys that put stuff in the hopper, but then it usually falls out or gets stolen, if you go through the search on here, dean had a thread about doing extras on chippers, some of the ideas were great, simple but very affective..

Personally i wouldnt do it over here, They'll be some traffic cop/Vosa person having a bad day whose eyes will light up when they see you drive past with a grinder hanging out of a chipper!!
