market for used stump grinder teeth?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have pretty much come to an end of 100 odd multitip teeth. Now I have got a diamond disk attachment that I used to sharpen a few when the last batch ran out but to be honest I have enough on my plate with out spending days sharpening 100 tears up and not getting them as sharp as new.

I just wondered if anyone on hear sells their old teeth on or is it worth sharpening them? I’ve just ordered another 50 from multitip as I have a few grinding jobs on over the next few weeks and at down to my last 4.

 Any suggestions or advice welcome.

 Cheers people

How much are the multi tip teeth nowadays? They used to be 11.50-12.50 each? That was a good few years ago though

They are around £15 a tooth (just under I think) but you save a bit with a bulk buy still around £550 pls vat for 50 teeth [emoji22]. Just looking for ways to make a bit of money back so it’s not so damaging on the old wallet.

Ouch... Is it actually financially viable to keep throwing brass down the toilet like that?

I was looking at predators due to spec but first thing I would do is bin that wheel and have one made up for green teeth or yellow jackets.... You may kick yourself you didn't do it ages ago due to costs of the teeth over time

I have found it so quick and easy to sharpen the multi tip teeth with a diamond disc, even on the machine, that I have cannibalised the multi tip wheel off my ancient Huxleys Little David grinder for a one off built machine to go on my digger.

If you don’t have time to sharpen them ensure a set of teeth are factored into a full days grinding and bin them. I would say switching to Rhino teeth would be a smart move. They are better for grinding and easier / quicker to sharpen so you might be more inclined to do it.

I would bin the green teeth and have the multi tip , green teeth are a pita as you end up wearing the nuts off then there a pain to undo and the teeth are a pain to sharpen, MT teeth are fast to change and your only changing 2 teeth not all of them so in-fact there more cost affective!
