Fir and birch triming

Dont know if it is right place to post, admins, please move it to right place if it isn;t

I looked on internet that birches are't trimmed and firs are timed by leaving long stems (10-30cm long)m, Looking for advice and criticism (already doing that),

 

Also have some shrub like Tilia, how should I take care of then?
