Why does my saw die when hot?

MS210, starts and runs fine for 5 minutes or so and then seems to run out of fuel. Doesn't stop, just completely lacks power. If I keep trying to use it it will stall. Starts easy when hot and ticks over fine.

Sorry to ask such a boring question but could I have a check list of things to look at. It has fresh fuel and visually the filter in the tank looks fine.

My husky is a right prima donna in hot weather. Could be fuel evaporation in the lines. Lived inAustralia for a long time in the Northern Territory and had an old van with the same problem. It was unusable between 11am and 3 pm. It was proper hot there though. 40 degrees c plus. I’m sure this answer is of no help to you. I had a few rums after discovering I can’t work for at least three weeks due to Oriental Bat Flu Lockdown.

I’d plumb for full carb clean / new kit / reset metering arm when done as peatff suggests. Just check the impulse line too though, (crankcase to air intake) they can pop off or split causing a poor revs / stall scenario like you have.

If it restarts strait away then probably not low comp . Could be tank vent blocked causing a vacuum but most likely as others have said a carb problem . Metering arm height seems a good place to start .

Apart from the above, it is always worth changing the fuel filter. I used to think changing them wasn't really important but have recently had a few trimmers and Kombis in that won't rev out and a new filter has resolved the issue so live and learn.

Sounds like it just needs a good going over as most machines only get it when they have issues like this.
