It is not free money, it's a loan. Any business struggling will struggle even more to take on a loan and have to pay it back. They won't be in a position to pay it back. Businesses are on their arses already. I would imagine businesses would rather close than get into debt to keep staff on and not do anything. This is going to be so much worse than the crash of 2008.

So feck saving for anything, ever, and just demand Government handouts when things go tits-up, I suppose they can always print ever more money.

It's worked for the banks for years and still the Directors got their annual bonuses.

yup. While socialists exist to whine for more dole its pointless saving.

Loads of 'retired' wasters who never worked a day in their lives, rent paid, council tax paid, pension credits, free mobility crap etc etc

Whats the point while scum like that are allowed to rape the system aided and abetted by socialists.

Let the blatent fraud commence  .  .  .

No surprise, I’m with Marcus on this one.

whether it be big, big business, airlines, train franchises, big retailers etc, you take your bonuses and share inflations year on year. You exist to generate wealth and profit and you revel in publishing your year on year % growth to justify the millions paid to CEOs and share holders.

Exactly the same is true, on a sliding scale, as you roll down through medium or even small enterprises.

Yes of course there is a moral aspect to maintain employment by these companies and many do so whilst still fluffing the profits and feathering the nests.

We hear nothing from business when it’s flying, just doing well and raking the benefits.

Now it might be going to shit, it’s hand out for public money and you can absolutely guarantee that as soon as government comes up with a ‘system’ some bar steward will make sure they abuse it.

Let no one that manked about the bank bail out stand in line with their hand out for public money.

Pandemic is not an ‘unknown’ entity, why has every whining bar steward that wants money not included it in their risk register / business continuity plan and set aside an element of previous years profits to provide the necessary financial security?

Greed, that’s why!

Perhaps a sad reflection of older values, but when the brother who got the farm was depressed because cattle prices had crashed, again, my father merely wryly remarked; "7 fat years followed by 7 lean".

As in that used to be the business mindset.
