Different pinion as I understand it, apart from that you’ll need a chainsaw expert to explain the difference.
I think it's just the bar mount is the same as the rest of the bigger husky (095) I think and 3/8" chain as standard

There are other differences . Its been on here before . Different clutch side cover to acomodate a 3/8 rim , because of this the dawg mounting holes are further apart so different bucking dawgs . The crank shaft is diffrerent . There is of course the high top filter and I think the oil pump is different .

Not tried the 540ixp - only the older model 535ixp. Same idea but the new one is more powerful?

You can't compare it in anyway to a 50cc petrol saw.

You need both, petrol and battery, there's plenty of times when I would pick up the battery saw over any petrol saw.

True. Though the spec on the 540ixp does looks pretty good and I am hoping they have improved the power with these. I know they have brought out bigger batteries. But yes it seems to be have both on hand.

I have the top handle husqvarna battery and it takes some getting used to, but is good for a good while during the day. It is however not throaty like petrol saws, probably very similar to yours.
