And there will be a 2 year warranty on it as well and if it breaks down in that time just take it back to B+Q for a new one ?

Maybe not. There are differences, at least at the present time, between the third-world countries where the Chinese are doing big infrastructure projects and the UK. Cheap local labour and the government allowing cheap Chinese labour. In Kyrgyzstan I was told that the Chinese workers were essentially slaves. Most were 'illegal' childeren of the one child policy era. If they worked on the road they would be given documents, birth certificate, passport etc. and could return to China. They were 'paid' with a bit of rice, the rest they had to catch for themselves.

Also, planning rules are different, no problems with land apropriation, no lobbyists, no grumpy voters, no grumpier residents you are throwing out of their family homes, no environmentalists, no high court challenges, no supreme court appeals, no slave labour, no health and safety, no culture of extreme corruption, no one prepeared to take direct action. And if any of these do exist they are not dealt with in a third world despotic/autocratic leadership way. Yet.

Is this the same CCP who has interned and re educating a million plus Muslims in cultural learning centres?
They are obviously not concentration camps...
Scariest bunch since the CIA and the nazis.

If the Chinese get HS2 built as quick as they've just built that new hospital over there they'll be done by a week on Thursday.

They will indeed.

Built in 12 days, ok not exactly to spec but at least a1000 times better than anything we could ever achieve.

Still can't believe they are spending 100 billion on the hs2, well, will be double that at least, anyone noticed that the big ben project has gone from 29 to 80 million! And it's not finished yet.

Big Ben was wanted by some to mark the end of our relationship with the EU, Boris claimed it was going to cost half a million quid to refit the clanger thingy, yet it only cost £14k to remove it, allegedly. Go figure.

No one in their right mind would invite the Chinese state into their country. They are the most aggressive imperialists on planet Earth and every dealing with them has a heavy price attached, far and above the agreed fee.

We invented feckin railways. We don't need the a hostile totalitarian state to bodge up a two hundred mile stretch of double track we didn't need in the first place.

And... don't forget it would be the end of our ever decreasing steel industry.

I was just thinking about my earlier post. If that extra £50 million is spent in the UK on UK contractors then I suppose it is all good (thumps up smilie)
