Hats off to you Steve! I have always wanted to do that, but never seen it for myself, and if they get a big naughty, not sure what I would do as an approach

people have forgotten the difference between punishment and deterrent. Because the punishment was harsh it was sufficient deterrent to mean it was very rarely dished out!

My wife and daughter were following a works vehicle into our local small town, out of the driver’s window came a McDonald’s bag full of waste, my daughter took the reg number and the company and called me up with it.
Ironically the company that owns the vehicle is a business that provides highway maintenance including verge litter picking.
The chap who I dealt with on the phone was apologetic and very cross.
Next day the two young imbeciles were out litter picking the road. I would have got rid of them.
