Converting a capstan winch to a drum winch?

Alright

 

Just wondering if u have a capstan winch set up is it just a simple case of taking the capstan drum off and replacing it with a drum that can store cable/rope?

I imagine the motor will turn at the same speed/force wot ever type of drum is fitted?.

Must admit not had much to do with capstan winches previously
