@Big J I've a 100M2 stone house in Brittany so similar size/climate,

We've got a log boiler which does all the hot water and keeps the house between 18-20c all day.

Since 1st Sept I've gone through 5.6M3 stacked. So I project I'll use around 15M3 in total for the year.

Just an idea of the numbers if you were less of a big jessie! ?

I am happy to admit that I am a big jessie! I love a warm house. I think that there is a big difference in fuel imput requirement between a room temperature of 20c and 23c.

It's been a really miserable and cold autumn here. At the end of August the weather just flipped and the temperature dropped.

I wouldn't have used quite as much usually.

I wouldn’t be so sure.....

Sounds like a perfectly standard Westcountry autumn/winter to me.

It suprises me you need heating with som eof these amounts - by the time you are up and down feeding the stove, then in and out to bring more fuel in I'd be knackered but also roasting.

My 5kw stove, 100sq m 2 storey 1940s semi d I tihnk I will use3 cubic m of sftwood this year, but also about 1000kg of smokeless coal (I woud us moe coal but it is getting wet again, only so much covered storage for it)
