Which Intermediate Tree Inspection Course?

Hi all

I'm torn between two courses - the Arb Association's Intermediate Tree Inspection and Land Skills' 2 Day Tree Inspection.  I need a stepping stone between the Lantra One Day basic course and the Professional Tree Inspection course.  I'm thinking the Land Skills one as it's being run quite a lot sooner and is a bit cheaper, and seems to have the same basic material.

Any help or suggestions, especially from anyone who's done the courses, would be great.

Thanks!

Hi Watrevir,

Jack from the Arb Association here.

I can't speak for the Land Skills course but our Intermediate course sole purpose is to be a stepping stone and bridge the wide gap between the Basic Tree Survey & Inspection (BTSI) and the Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) courses.

To add there will be 2 tutors at our intermediate course allowing for 1 to 1 support to all the attendees to ensure they are ready for the PTI.

We also include a Visual Tree Assessment walk (VTA) which we don't believe is offered by Land Skills.

Finally, the tutor is a highly qualified Arboricultural Consultant who is also the PTI tutor which will be very helpful when you progress to the PTI.

If you have any more question feel free to ask or you can give our training team a call on 01242 522152. Just connect to the training line.

Regards.

Hi mate,

What's your background? Have you got much experience with trees? Do you have books/resources? Have you read them?
The reason I ask, is you may be aiming too low.
If you're planning on ultimately doing a PTI then you should ask whoever runs that course if they think that you're suited to it. A PTI course and a resit (if you don't pass) are cheaper than an intermediate qualification and subsequent assessment at a higher level.
