Well....iam looking at something like this to cut up smaller diameter say upto 300mm timber, machine is only 4 ton, most will be down and on a stack, iam thinking i could do without the rotator but that would limit it to just cutting from the stack, iam sure i would be able to tidy up some of the low hanging bows around the place, reason iam going down the shear route is that it’s quiet and iam hoping less manual than chainsaw etc, the bits sheared are really only going in the Farm 2000, other option would be a static shear that i use the grab to load, any ideas / suggestions appreciated, thanks, keep on chopping [emoji106]IMG_4983.thumb.jpg.cbb7176e8ec59c83e0a3b9c964713705.jpg

I think 300mm would be a big ask for a 4 tonner

I thought that (though would be delighted to be corrected). Maybe a combination of one of those pincer type grabs to split larger stuff down to smaller billets and a shear that cuts more like 200mm. Ideally in the same implement. Does such a thing exist?

To reduce noise and manual handling, I'd say you want to me bechanically loading a circular saw or something. Processing and tree lopping are two different things, and if you try to use the same implement for both I'd say you'd be making compromises for each situation to the point of it being little use.

No offence Kevin but that video makes the multione look like it turns simple, quick jobs into loud and painfully slow ones. Didn’t look like it did any of them well enough for me to part with big bucks for.

None taken!!  ? Maybe not the best video demo, but having been there I know which way round I'd rather have done the works - manual or sitting down with a brew ?
