lanyard friction device

Recommended Posts

Petzl Zillon... is very good.
Can also be used as a secondary friction device on a climb line. (A good choice in the light of upcoming legislation)

Got both zillon and art positioner.

Positioner wins.

No frills, instant grab, rediculously smooth.

Its the best mechanical lanyard grab by far.

ART positioner with swivel - there was a vid with a climber who had worn all the red anodising off his, must have paid for itself many times over. When changing over high up and throwing the rope hanging off the positioner you have to trust it - the internet would have hopefully told us if people were plunging to their deaths due to ART positioners coming apart, not heard one incident with them. The Trango Cinch, if they still make them, is smoother for abseiling with a long lanyard on the bridge in single line mode.

ART positioner all the way. No further questions needed it just works in any weather without stress or thinking it just does what it needs to and very very well.

What do you mean secondary friction device? On a main line?
