Timberwolf tw230dhb changing flywheel bearings....

How easy / what's involved in changing the roller box side flywheel bearing?

Hopper and roller box off then bearing cap. What then? How to get old bearing out? Then fitting the new one?

I'm sick of these crappy greaseable bearings failing... Fine on rotation but float back and forwards....

I'm putting a sealed bearing back in. They lasted for hundreds of hours....

Any help appreciated

hi Swinny , We have Timberwolf qualified technicians that are willing to discuss your problem with you if you like. Where are you in the country ? Call me, Gareth of Green Plant 01483 235111

he asked for instructions so he could do it himself - is it not good business to share tricks of the trade on the forum?

It would have taken five minutes to ask the technicians the preferred method to remove and install the bearing and post a quick step by step how to on it

Couldn't agree more. Timberwolf have a habit of trying to be a sneaky and not sharing knowledge. He asked for an answer on a public forum, so lets put the answer on here for everyone.

If it was a Greenwich question, we would have got the answer from a technician without fuss

We at Green Plant will give out our information for free for the benefit of the Timberwolf owner. Incorrect details at this stage could be an expensive error. We are given service bulletins for these areas of repair by Timberwolf about spotting potential causes to the relevant issue that we will pass on , like roller box damage, aligning the bearing properly , adequate amount of grease required , the locking nut to be torqued and loctited .etc. Too long a description just to put in words as every machine could be different. I get many a call to say that bearings were only done 3 months ago and they have gone again, knowing what to look out for is the key. Its free advice from Timberwolf qualified technicians .

Then a simple explanation asking some relevant questions would of helped us all, instead of the cloak and daggers approach
