The guy i have been coppicing for has taken a 15 ton trailer load of the wood we have cut but would like to sell the rest. We have coppiced a 1.4 acre area of a woodland near Ongar, Essex. All wood has been cut to 3ft lengths and stacked up (larger than cords though) There is a lot of wood here, 95% Hornbeam and 5% Field Maple. I would say that it would fill at least another 10 trailer loads (15 ton). Also there is 2 other woodlands across the road from this one to coppice 1.4 acres in, so loads more to come. The wood is solid, and the trunks are roughly 12-20 DBH. If anyone is interested please PM me and i'll put you on to the farmer.

Many Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all.

Ben

Are you looking at selling the uncut timber standing or will you be harvesting it yourself. Have you got a standing volume for the crop aswell.

Its not my timber to sell, the farmer i used to work for owns the woodlands, Im just being paid to cut/stack the timber and clear all the brash. It is only the 3ft cut logs that will be sold. The last woodland will be completed by end of february, but the one i'm in at the mo will be finished on 5th January.

The woodland is a few hundred yards from a small narrow road, or across a field to a farm track. I will pass the numbers given to me on to the farmer when i'm back at work in the New Year, as he'll be the one to discuss loading, access on his land etc and price. Thanks for your enquiries and Happy New Year to you all.
