So like quite a lot of you I expect I watch Building Alaska and shows like it ,on a few of them I see them using power tools that are just not available in this country I just seen a chainsaw attachment for a circular saw for cross cutting big beams ,why is it that we can’t buy things like that hear .

Simple fact as i have bought various things from the usa .The eu safety regs and  usa vary a huge amount which is the reason you cannot get a lot of tools in the uk/eu

Hi I think we should get in touch with the minister for trade and say hey we want the same tools available hear ,I remember it was the same with crash helmets, the Simpson Starwars was tested to drag racing standards in the US and at the time were stricter than the road safety standards hear but they were banned now they are everywhere even that bloody guy the Stig has one .

The obvious conclusion is that the yanks are either considered much more expendable by their Government than we are by ours, or that they are much more skilful in the use of dangerous cutting implements than we, as a nation, are :lol:

 

The US always seems a lot less restrictive in their governance and much more reasonable in allowing their people to harm themselves (and others).

When you see some lads on site they shouldn't be trusted with anything more than a Yankee screwdriver.

The blokes that built the garden room for us, were big into buying certain tools from the states, incl one of those worm drive Skilsaws, essentially stuff that was not available on the Euro market.

One very simple thing I saw on Youtube was the steel pins, square or round, 5/8" thick, with predrilled holes every few inches /two inches, for setting out, nailing retaining timbers to etc etc.
