They may genuinely dislike green elder but I expect they'll do what they do with badly laid traps: dig round them and carry on..

It's true though that mole hills tend not to be found under elder trees so maybe planting a ornamental specimen in the middle of your lawn..?

It is considered bad luck to burn elderberry wood indoors. Dropped leaves seem to kill off anything which is not well established under the tree and they manage to grow in the most awkward places like the join at the bottom of a wall where they are hard to remove. They also cause purple stains on the washing when starlings have been eating the berries. :D

I loved the first two series, it sort of faded a bit after that (with the honorable exception of ’Legz Akimbo, put yourself in a child’

 

I still use lines all the time in my daily life.
