Hi we have been asked to remove 2 trees, both trees at some point have suffered from windblow and the larger one has more of a lean than the smaller one, the bigger tree 38" diameter is the worst of the 2 but is slightly hung up in the smaller one, which tree first and how would you go about this ? what cut would you use ? what would be the proceedure and how long should i allow for this, timber left in 6ft lengths and brash chipped,

Then you create another problem for yourself if it doesn't want to stay

Looks a clear zone, i'd cut and make sure I have a good exit to run for my life it the crap hits the fan

Well if the anchor point is high enough it only has to stay long enough to deal with the smaller one. Many fatalities arise from felling a tree that is supporting another.

It's a long time ago now but it wasn't unusual for me to hold a blown tree upright  with a cable to make it safe to climb and section fell.

I still drive past a house with the only telltale that a tree fell onto the roof being the faintly different  colour of tiles covering the damaged roof. The tree was a 3m3 stemmed sycamore which a crane held off the roof just above the centre of gravity while I handballed the crown off the roof   prior to "felling" it backwards whilst it was lifted out of the loft by the crane.

Just a suggestion, maybe cripple cut the smaller one, walk out of the danger zone, then fell the bigger one, with a no barberchair cut of your choice.

Yep I was going for this . Skittle em .
