Iranian crisis

Id say it was an Iranian attack but not from the Iranian Navy.

The revolutionary guards have there own naval assets so it would have been them. They're commanded by Ayatollah Khamenei and have a different agenda than the government.

Yes this is the sort of thing I guessed, provoke the US to attack the regime and then take over

..and do what exactly? Honest question.. the use of so much energy to kill people and destroy ancient civilisations sickens me, yet here I am bitching about it on the internet. Not exactly being an activist is it? Kinda hard to denounce their actions when we claim such close association to them (I'm in Ireland) we just spent millions to have their great leader over to play a round of golf at his mansion, then tell our limp twisted leader to build a wall from donegal to dundalk. A clueless fool who cannot even compose coherent sentences. In control of the largest military in the world.

The sooner it implodes over there the better for the rest of the world.

Talking about it IS doing something about it IMO.

Yeah, it gets us all put on a watch list! Talk is talk but talking to a bomb wont stop it blowing up your family.

A good read by a great author

"liquid times" by zygmunt bauman.

He touches upon the fear of terrorism being the main cause of terrorism and the fear of other religions and alternative populations causing racist nationalism and fanaticism.

Short read and well worth it.

Nope!

Ever read any Huxley from the 30's
Talks a lot about the impending war everyone is waiting for...
The social recipe they had then wasn't that different to today's nationalism.
China and Russia have expansionist agendas. Silk Road, sea ports, rail infrastructure from New Zealand to Ireland.
America and Europe have weakened economically and politically.
The EU is collapsing, and America has trump.
Yeah. Interesting times...

People think Trump is a clueless idiot, yet he talked down Kim Jong, after N.Kora fired missiles over Japan. Looks like diplomacy to me. Got the US economy motoring again, 3% growth and that in his first year, when Obama said it couldn't be done. As the feller said, if he personally discovered the cure for cancer, people would still hate him. Three years as POTUS an didn't start a war, or allow the US to be provoked into one. Idiot, yeah, for sure.
