Knife and gun crime London

Really?

Have you ever been to London?  Yes, I had a happy childhood and carried a knife for whittling.  I grew up in the North East.

You are in the North East/East ?  Surely, even you can see there is a massive difference between Northumberland, Yorkshire, the Fens, Kernow etc to inner city London?

Try looking up the statistics...  how many people who carry weapons actually have them used on themselves.

So imagine this, your son (if you have one) is encouraged by you to carry a blade.  His school go on a field trip to London.  They get into an argument with some local youths and a fight breaks out.  Your son tries to defend himself and the blade gets taken from him and used on him and tragically he dies.

Might sound a bit far fetched?  Not for the many families who have gone through similar scenarios and had to bury their children.  Luckily my neighbour survived.

Knife crime is real as are teenage death rates due to knife crime.

Would you then still be defending the right to carry a knife unless there was a good reason for it?

Martial arts are worthwhile pursuits.

It's hype, @Rough Hewn told us. Until some scrote chucks it over you to nick a couple of hundred quid off you. I really don't like going to the City any more.

Eggsy you've missed my point.
I agree it's sh*t in London, I've got family who've been stabbed and hacked with machetes.
It's an emotive subject.
I'm not offering answers.
My point is when the magician says look left....

There is no deterrent any more. When I worked in Horfield prison about 15 years ago, it was then a CAT A prison, I found it on the whole to be quite a relaxed easy going environment.

I don't believe in capital punishment, well, perhaps with a few exceptions, but HARD labour should definitely be re instated.

More than enough people standing round watching that could have easily grouped together and done something.

Part and parcel of living in a city according to the mayor probably.

I totally agree, and a video like that shows how people just stand and watch. Let's hope they pick on the wrong person 1 day but then he will probably do time for it.
