Why I started Arbtalk

I've made some really good mates from Arbtalk and it has genuinely made me a better worker as I wouldn't have found out half the things that I have done from sitting down and reading about them.

I remember joining in 2008 and thinking it was the best thing ever as you could ask people about the things that you wouldn't normally see like advanced knots or new gear.

If anything, I miss how it used to be where it was a lot more focused but overall, I'm just happy that its here. If it wasn't I think I'd still be climbing on a Blakes hitch and talking to the wife every evening.

Cheers Steve!!

Glad to have helped with the wife situation. I understand how tedious that can be otherwise 😀

A very good read Steve. It's not often I comment on Arbtalk, but I take a look every day. Would certainly miss it if it wasn't there.

Great read Steve. I can vouch for your website building. I get much more traffic and queries through it than my old one. Works great on tablets and phones as well.

Money well spent!

Cheers

I can say categorically that I owe a significant chunk of my business to you Steve. I've got long term customers (8 years plus) that I met through Arbtalk, have found the bulk of my sub contractors on here and have learned a huge amount from other contributors too.

Hats off good sir

Since I joined Arbtalk my knowledge and business have expanded immensely.
So much advice and experience on even the most detailed subjects of arb.
It's turned my work from local to national, and opened many doors.
As well as getting to meet some proper good folk.
Hats off indeed Steve.
If you ever need a table top...

That songs a description of my Thailand visits (for work of course) after a few Singha/vodka chasers.

In my own small one man band way I'm another who's benefitted enormously from Arbtalk:  work, knowledge, contacts, friends.  Sitting in the pickup now is an HB20 I hire cheaply from a mate who I met on here years ago when I had a slightly used pair of Airstreams to sell.

You've done a great thing Steve.
