Tree surveying highway safety signs

Looking to carry out survey on various roads appreciate governed by highways criteria to a degree but would you suggest men at work with tree surveying attached to bottom of sign or the exclamation mark with same detail. Mindful that we are not blocking carriageway I.e. parking van in side road and surveying along highways verge?

Any advice what current practice is gratefully accepted

Risky- dependent on what roads yr surveying - Transit truck with flasher board on back is more eye catching . Client should actually specify what yr requirements must be. K

To be legit, I think it should be a men at works sign (of the appropriate size for the speed limit), and take your pick from:

Grass cutting; Tree cutting; Hedge cutting; Ditching; Weed spraying; Sign erection; Sign maintenance; Lighting maintenance; Overhead works; On slip road;

Surveying; Mobile road works; Road sweeping; Gully emptying; Gritting; Salting; Snow ploughing; Blasting; On hard shoulder; At level crossing

Above would seem to be "the way to go" ...I was of the (wrong) view that as you're not actually working on the highway, and no further signage / TM measures will be encountered by drivers, then 'MaW' sign wasn't applicable and the 'exclamation mark' sign was the relevant one...which still seems logical (but then I would say that of course :).)

Edward's comments are also very valid / relevant.

Cheers,

Paul
