I'm reading a lot of folk reporting drastic reduction in Swallow numbers but there's plenty here. More than usual if anything.

About the only thing I can think of that are less than previous times are Curlew, don't see or hear them much. Anything else I would say numbers have increased over recent years, including all species mentioned in this thread.

Another strange one this year i’ve seen is a big increase on seagulls

I guess I see less of these now landfills are managed better and  agricultural activity has decreased.

One unusual thing I recently noticed on the canal was a cormorant, I watched it dive four times as I walked the towpath and each time it surfaced with a fair sized fish and swallowed it. That will annoy the anglers.

they catch and eat swallows in Africa - may be 1 reason why they are scarce?

We get a fair dose of cormorant on the river below work, but there are two dammed sections which creates a slower water coarse so maybe this is why, as fish will prob be easier to catch?

Regards the seagulls, i’m not a huge fan of them, but at the same time i’m not gona wish any harm on them either, but they are bloody noisey, and cheeky!
