Clays and soils etc will add to the drying out of your sidewalls and promote early perishing. A good clean once in a while and spraying them with something silicone based will help, just puts a little suppleness back in to the rubber and is non harmful to the rubber also.

This . ?

Hi

I need some new tyres on my ranger

they are

235/75 r 15.  105 s

i am after something more on than off road

any recommendations ?

thanks

I fitted a set of these on the kennel https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173865744887?ViewItem=&item=173865744887

Good road manners in the wet and dry, none too shabby off road either,

Bob

BFG's, I find they last a bloody long time, decent compromise for road and some off road without being right mud pluggers! I try to keep on top of tyre pressure and corner/corner/left/right swaps too.

I usually damage them via punctures before their life's end but I have had 60k miles out of one or two.

You need to get 60K out of all 4 really :D

I was getting new tyres the other day and apparently, the new BFGs won't last as long due to them now being made with shallower tread. Something to do with rules on noise pollution

Huge demand for rubber these days, and tyres are getting harder to get hold of, marketing and manufacturing prices have shoved a lot of work abroad..... yeah you guessed it, out to china! The rubber plant isn’t as generous as it used to be with climate change. So all the excuses are coming out the woodwork now..... less tread for noise pollution regs, less tread for fuel efficiency, less tread for accommodating different compounds, less tread for more stability [emoji849]? and on the back of it all as usual!!... a cheaper product that doesnt last as long as it did or should, along with a dearer price tag.
