what's up with swearing?

It is poverty of vocabulary, worse said - even worse written down.

Though I am guilty of saying it at times.

I wondered how long it would be before that old chestnut was rolled out.

LOL

Ha, reminds of that Muslim protest outside that school.. bleating about having their children indoctrinated... morons..

Regarding swearing, I delete plenty more swear words than you will ever see by me..   sparingly is the watchword..

Heres my suggestion, on threads related to arb work..  which is what the general public might come across while pursuing answers to arb related questions it might be an idea to enforce arbtalk rulles..

On the general forum were we discuss anything we care to, we can say what the hell we want..  which by the way is something I try to do..

I have no problem with sweary words when its merited  ie when debate gets heated or someones being a knob.

I dont think arbtalk has been overly rude of late but one thread comes too mind and some have been goading others but as i say i dont have a problem with adults using adult language when things get heated.

At the end of the day its out with our control and the mods have warned us to pack it in,so we will.

End of

I'm relatively new here, but I'm active on a number of other forums with quite different themes.

Partly, I quite like how this forum is quite "real", and being in finance and having a background in investment banking (boring...super professional...stuffy...bureaucratic), its a little refreshing sometimes to see people interact they way they would in real life.

But also the forum has to have rules, and I can understand why no swearing would be one of them. Same reason the DVLA won't let you have a number plate that looks like a rude word - likelihood to cause offence to someone. Steve has a tough job enforcing this and one I don't envy. I don't use bad language in my normal life nor when I'm representing my business, but like some have said above...them's the rules.

I just thought I'd post something to remove that stupid long name in the last post from my forum layout.

It affects my OCD badly.
