I will try again.

Not talking about swearing for swearing’s sake.

Nor having a pop at someone

There are no children on here nor are there people that will never have heard the vernacular.

Advertisers don’t give a dam, they are concerned with commerce not language.

I am educated but sometimes a swear word is the only correct word.

RH was quoting an actual situation.

Anyone on here upset with what he typed?

I have been upset by bigotry and needlessly confrontational prose on here , the odd swear word pales in comparison

He was quoting an actual situation?? So even if those were the words used in the “actual situation” what do you think the benefit of replaying the scene word by word actually was? I’m baffled as to why the “actual situation” required a thread of its own anyway but maybe that’s just me

im going to put it real simple for you...

If you don’t like the way the forum is moderated then leave, you won’t be the first and you certainly won’t be the last

Wow.
That response was unnecessarily aggressive.
I was debating censorship.
Can I not decide what thread to create?
I understand that this is a privately owned forum. The rules are the rules.
What is wrong with the courteous questioning of this.
I like this forum and have no wish to leave thanks.

No swearings a rule, simple.

I know steve, and many of the mods have had a lot on outside of arbtalk the past year or so, maybe standards have slipped, good to see them taking action again to be honest.

Theres the “report post” button if any of the off topic posts offend you, mods get a notification rather than need to sift through potentially hundreds of pages of drivel.

To be fair the moderators donate their time free of charge to keep this forum on the straight and narrow. Sure, there's a lot of traffic and stuff gets through, but if you have as genuine question or concern about how this forum is ran you could either privately message the admin, or not use it.

Basically publicly calling out the moderators decisions is not going to get a great reaction. We're grown men here, this isn't school. Life's too short to get upset with things on the internet.

Aggressive?

Personally I find swearing aggressive and unnecessary which is why it is discouraged on the forum, most members manage to follow this rule without claiming “censorship”

You are well within your rights to start any thread you wish as long as it complies with the forum rules that you agreed to when joining the forum three years ago. wether or not I agree with your thread is neither here nor there and I certainly would never delete it, that would be censorship

im glad you like the forum

cheers

You can't even spell the word correctly.

I've only ever seen justified criticism of Fundamentalist Islam and Islamist terrorism on this forum (lounge) as well as free and robust discussion on all kinds of contentious issues of the day. Stop being so childish.

I like to think we call out all fundamentalists. Saying that, I did get barred for telling Jizzalot that I'd see him next Tuesday.

my posts have conformed to the rules.

of the 2 dozen or so posts it is clear i have lost the argument which is fine.

all but 2 or 3 counter posts were respectful and in non confrontational prose.

i didn't resort to sarcasm or having a go at an individual
