what's up with swearing?

don't get me wrong, i'm not about forcing my own values on other people, but...

i noticed Rough Hewn got chastised for swearing recently.

i re read the forum rules and noted that vulgarity and being mean to others is not allowed.

this rule is broken daily (i wish the being mean to others wasn't but i am adult enough to withstand the vulgarity)

what is wrong with swearing?

we all do it!

isn't it deceitful to pretend it is not part of our everyday language ?

please can we swear again

Nobody ever swore at a teacher in my inner city school in the meadows, Nottingham in the 70s ( look it up it’s a shit hole). It’s the norm now, like it or not

That’s not a good thing though, is it?

I’m as guilty as anyone, but I think we should all avoid it on here when we can.

It loses its impact if it’s common as well.

That’s the point, it’s common language, not used for effect necessarily ( but obviously it can be)
