So here it is...The first stem all milled and thoroughly enjoyed it (although I'm stressing about how I'm going to get it out, bit heavier than I anticipated). The 390xp coped fine on this one at around 30", tomorrow's one at around 40" will test it though20190328_135402_003.jpegIMG_20190328_111126.jpeg20190328_114944.jpeg20190328_124952.jpeg20190328_130311.jpeg

Thats a super clean lump of Oak. Glad it went well and you went for it. [emoji4]
Had a really good day at it, my dilemma is how to get it out without having to shorten it, more so with the bigger stuff tomorrow

It sure is fun peeling the slabs of layer by layer and revealing the beautiful grain.

Due to dimensions or weight?

I got a carpet fitters trolley a couple of years ago for shifting planks on. I ratchet strap a plank  to it and its fairly easy to move. Wished I had done it years ago in fact. I have moved some fairly hefty planks about 100m when I wasn't allowed to drive on some grass a couple of years ago. Worth the effort but not if I had to carry them with a mate.

Great idea! I'll have to get one of them. Cheers. :)

Both, but a combination of the 2 really. Due to access they have to be carried out on their side instead of flat and their weight makes that difficult. I'll pull my weight when it comes to lifting but these aren't easy to lift flat let alone on their side. I'm hoping to use a friend's arb trolley so should work out okay
