DBS Check

Anyone with SPENT criminal convictions had one of these, and if so what was the outcome?

 

I've been asked if I'm interested in some work airside at Stanstead Airport, to get airside a DBS will be carried out, I don't know if it's the basic check or the 'All Inclusive' jobbie, having a read, if it's the latter it will show spent convictions which I would think will make the work a non starter for me.

I was in the same boat a few years ago, my ex mrs got her SC, when the firearms officer was at the house I asked about getting one myself, he told me in no uncertain terms would I be getting one on 'his watch'. I'm 23 years with nothing more than one motoring offence.

Personally,eggs, i think it sticks with us to the grave,im an x keeper,and know the firearms officer really well,she is brilliant,but no chance.

Caution for herbal,
20 years ago.
Nothing came up on my enhanced dbs 6 months ago.
However I got stopped a few years back and it came up.

The Mrs went for a job at British Aerospace Engineering (Samlesbury) when she first moved over. She had an in depth check done because it was part of the “aeronautical” sector and carried classified info etc. [emoji849][emoji849] So the fact you would be working directly within “British airspace” makes me think that it will probably be a thorough check, but ya never know! Just be honest Yolky, no one can ever knock ya for that!!! As same as a lot of things in life, what will be will be, and nothing ventured nothing gained. [emoji106]

There are different levels of DBS checks Eggs,

basic,enhanced and a check on the barring list .

Im having to DBS check around 35 adults as part of a youth band tour to Malaysia.

The Barring one is mainly to do with child protection.

its up to the company organisation how they use the information employing you wise .

I've had s shotty cert since I was 15. Age is nothing to do with it, if you have a need and can justify it and as long as they have no reason to say your a nutjob lunatic then you will be granted one. Whether an individual plod likes you or not is irrelevant.
