Husky saws 390XP, 395XP, 3120XP to be discontinued?

Proper ! Just before the New Romantics an just at end of husqy wire handle chain brakes , miss those  .... ( the Husqy not the New Romantics) k

Thing I remember bout that 3120 is it permanently burning off the plastic chainbreak ... not much fun with a dodgy clutch spring up a tree! They should of put a metal one on, I seem to remember those being adjustable too , definitely a wheel of some sort of my first 266.

The 390 and 395 are being replaced by a 592xp later in the year.

Thing is ...after the 572 ,560 I would say two years if they are saying end of this year.
What are your sources for that too as all the dealers I’ve spoken too say there is nothing in the pipe line.

I wonder if we are seeing the same as cars, when carburettors were unable to meet emission limits about 20 years ago and injection became universal (a good thing IMO), and injection is the only way to meet the regulations, not because it produces more power  but because it meters in exactly the right amount of fuel throughout the range, whereas carbs are okay at tickover and full load but a bit out in between.

 

Oddly the bigger stage 5 2t engines will be able to emit about 33% more HC+NOx combined than smaller ones per kWh.

 

I always thought the issue with 2t engines was HC and NOx, the HC from fuel and unburnt oil carried over and NOx from running a bit weak. Whereas out in the open carbon monoxide isn't much of a risk, is not a greenhouse gas or a precursor of particulates.

I never realised chainsaws were such big polluters, I would have thought planes, trucks, cars and dodgy factories were as there are more of them and are running all the time they are in flight/on the road etc.

I was always told to look at the big figures because in the big figures, there are easier gains to be made but what do I know.

Looks like we will soon have loads of trees to do work on but nothing to cut them down with, perhaps harsh language would do it!
