Flail hire for excavator

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm in need of a flail to hire for a couple of weeks to put on a 6t excavator.  Does anyone know of a firm in Kent that does them? Its for clearing a lot of willow re-gen and brambles. Willow re-gen in upto 3-4 inch diameter, Has to be excavator mounted as the bank is to steep for the a bobcat style machine

Your help would be very much appreciated as I need to get the cost in ASAP

Cheers guys

Hmm.. Good luck with that...

I'd be very surprised if the flow-rate on a 6 ton machine was sufficient to enable the flailing of anything over 2" diameter woody material -but happy to be told otherwise !

-Think you'd need something more like a 13 tonner to do that ?

What about using a tractor and long reach hedge cutter for the bulk of the work (easier availability), and then hand-cutting and chipping the remaining 2" and-over willow stems  ?

I guess you got this sorted by now. If not, i don't know if this head is available without the excavator or not but it might be worth a call
