Oak trees affect a new development?

Question

Hi there,

Looking at a new development to purchase a property. The development plan has two large oak trees detailed either side of the new building. Is there an expert that can advise if these could become an issue in future years? Or whether there are certain building regulations in the UK that would protect me from dodgy developers that might cut corners.

Floorplan attached

Thanks

Steve
