Today's milling

No, every picture Ive ever posted has been ripped off of the net......

I should clarify that Ive never found a nail when using my Bandsaw Mill. Ive found plenty when Alaskan Milling. But since Dave was Milling with his Bandsaw I replied to his post in context. Hitting a nail with a Chain is annoying but rectifiable. I'l assume it kills your Bandsaw Blade. Bit of a difference I think.

Don't ever mill a log from a back garden.....

It is amazing how often the owner says the tree has no nails in.  How they can know that for a tree 50 years older than them I cannot imagine.

I get it so regularly.
No, I promise you there's no nails....
Whilst I'm looking at the huge blue stain at the base.....

Was worth a punt as wood was free, tree was on its own on the boundary of a playing field. What I should have done was give it the once over with the metal detector ?‍♂️

I cut through nails regularly.
Some just won't pull out.
If it's small I just ignore them,
If it's chunky, I drop the next cut to 4",
hoping it's a 4" nail.... not a 6" nail.

As he's towing the rig I suspect it's for his awareness where it is as it sticks out.

I had similar tied to mine, it helps when reversing.

I have the same set-up on my Mill. Is certainly handy seeing the Band Tension Adjuster when Towing.
