Power Inverters and Electric Saws

Hi All,

Anyone used an electric saw with an 12volt DC Power inverter?

I’ve got a handy little 750 watt saw and plenty of decent batteries but not sure what size inverter I’d need, ie would a 1500 watt continuous output be ok or too much/not enough etc?

I’ve got petrol kit but the electric option works well for weight and noise where I am.

Any thoughts or experience gratefully appreciated, cheers :)

750/12 is about 63 amps, that is going to drain most batteries in quick time. With a lot of inverters they usually cut out after they sense a voltage drop in the battery of about 1.5V. Think it would cause that cut out fairly quickly ( one minute at a total guess) in all but good and big batteries.

Also cables are going to have to be up at about 16 or 25mm  to handle that sort of current.
