Insurance quote

Just had an automatic renewal quote for my car insurance (£407.00) i won't name the company.

Went on a comparison site and got a quote for £212.00 ! It's the same insurance co. !!!!

Two questions,

What's that all about?

More practically though, can I accept the quote off the comparison site and ask them to send my NCB to themselves?!?!

I'll bet you a pound if you hit the buy it now on the comparison site the price will go up, or there's more questions.

yes you can move NCB from one insurance company to another, FOC.

Well, the quote is good for 30 days,  so a bit of investigating tomorrow and then I think I'll give it a shot.

Nothing to lose really!

i think this is what i did, saved the quote of web site got the ref number and then rang them, cancelled old policy and took new one out no problems,if you have put all your details in on the net and they are the same as what they have on record you should be ok to go a head, and then just do the same next year and year, after just done my l200 like this about £70 cheaper than renewing old policy, go for it as we all pay through the nose for insurance,

Yes. I've got a reference no. Says quote is good for 30 days, apparently!

What a load of nonsense tho.

I asked an insurance co to breakdown a quote once, ie what each portion of the amount for. They couldn't tell me. I'm sure they think of a figure and double it
