Free wood (poplar) baglan port talbot

Hi there, logs at roadside for collection, currently in lengths of 4 to 8 foot in varying diameters. 

Its poplar, but its free to anyone who wants it, take it all or just pick what you want.

I alway hear its not great for burning? Anyone on here burn it. I never bring it back to my yard though I have removed a fair few recently.

I have a bit that I keep for myself, I wouldnt sell it as logs.

 I have burnt a fair bit and find it good stuff . You need to keep it dry one seasoned as it tends to soak up moisture easily  , more so than other woods . here is my most used line ....Dave ( skyhuck ) boiled his central heating using pop . ?

Love poplar. Would choose it over almost any other wood (hybrid poplar, I should add, as that's all I've really had).

 

It lights straight from newspaper (no kindling required), puts down a decent bed of embers and burns with an intense, bright flame. Might not last quite as long as oak, but for me I'd rather have the pop.

I didn't realise port talbot had any trees at all.
It looks like an industrial film set from bladerunner.

Poplar is especially good for a bonfire, gives off a big flame and loads of light.
