Good man!  for doing your bit.

 

Been doing mine since I started riding bikes @16.... 75+ in the bin. including plasma. Never know when you might need it. Never have. Never want to.

It will be a different set up down south as it is to in north Scotland-

 

Up here they keep making it harder to donate? O.o

 

I used to go all the time, they run the sessions in an evening in village halls etc. You could just rock up whenever you get the chance. Now you can't go, you have to book an appointment? And you have to take along the form the send you out in the post etc

I'm sure they made the "opening hours" shorter too

Maybe ok if you're retired but not much use for self employed/working folk - I've not been since

The expat British aren't allowed to donate blood over here in France due to the Mad cow disease outbreak several years ago. At least that was the case a couple of years ago when I enquired of my doctor. Now another farm in Aberdeenshire has found it's resurfaced.  It used to be that if Brits had returned to the UK within five years they were automatically barred from donating. It's a shame as I've quite a rare blood group, B Postive.
