Khriss, do you really think it needs to be a separate CS unit?

 

I for one wouldn't be happy having to pay for something I've been doing for years without dying at all.

 

Then refreshing it, yada yada yada....

Fraid I do Mark, it's a bit like the old NPTC unit where you either did conifer or broadleaf snedding - cos it's completely different ! Anchoring and rescue methods are different. Advancing an SRT anchor is different, cos you must not rely on a thin lateral to take a side-load ( which people have been killed doing so ). I know it might bind with people, but the benefit in the SRT system is proven - so NPTC have to run with the ball on this. K

I do get you Khriss, but I’m not paying for something I’ve known how to do for a long time.

Maybe it should be like Grandad rights on your licence....

Simple answer.  Move country and leave all the bullshit behind.

 

it worked for me.

Surely the same goes for drt ?
Apart from that i would be really pissed off if I had to do a unit to climb SRT ... I did my last Ariel saw refreshers SRT and I doubt the assessor knew a clue about the system I was using...
