I have a theory about businesses that are frequently discussed on forums:
Any forum will generally have a couple of guys on it who run businesses supplying stuff/services for whatever that forum is for. Anyone asking for recommendations for that service will be inundated by people saying how good they are. Some will be genuine but a lot will be parroting. A lot of people will also exaggerate how good the business is or omit truths about problems they’ve had with it.
I wonder whether the opposite is also true? Northern Arb get slated on here prodigiously. Perhaps they’re just a fashionable company to slate on this particular forum and actually there are loads equally bad?

P.S. I’ve had one dealing with Northern Arb and they delivered fine.

I'd go with that. I've had similar experiences to 'white noise' with several of the UK arb suppliers. I see people singing their praises online all the time, and yet I've waited over a fortnight for a silky blade with no explanation...?
As irritating as it is, these things happen, things slip through the cracks sometimes. Best bet is giving them a ring and sorting it out that way. They're usually pretty genuinely apologetic, and will see you right pronto.

Have use Saturn knives of blades with no problem ,  there's a lot of companies out there having problems getting hold of supplies be wait for 6 weeks for part from a dealer.

I ve also email companies about machines and got a reply asking more information on spec returned email and then never heard a thing.

Its a bit like the Amazon ratings and trip advisor, you look for the products with a very positive 4 and 5 skew on the ratings. There is always the odd nutter that comes out of the woodwork slating something for obscure and bizarre reasons but if 80% of reviews are positive, the product or service must be half decent.

The best way to gauge how good a business is, is how much repeat business the company gets, how many positive reviews it gets and also, how they respond if something goes wrong.

With the internet, a bad business would now find it damn difficult to survive unless operating outside of the law!

Never used Northern Arb so can't judge them!
