Bought a new stihl lo pro and an Oregon lo pro. Ok, the Oregon was a fiver less but the at the difference in cutters!
Or am I being too simplistic?

I'm presuming the longer tooth is the Oregon?
Check on tinterweb to see if your Oregon needs a 10degree camber.
(That's side to side, not cutting angle)
Real pig if it does.

no, the Oregon is the top one. looks like it will take half the sharpening the stihl will before it's worn to nowt. hey ho if it cuts well and is robust I will be happy.

my grinder can take care of the angles

Yep I'm not sure why this is - also it seems the depth gauges need a tweak as well to get best use out of it.

Post up a thread on how the two compare if you can.

can u expand on the depth gauges?

do u mean more regular attention or keeping taller or shorter than other chains?

I found the Oregon depth gauges need a slight reduction out of the box so that the chain takes a larger bite. Not a lot - I just use a light touch with a diamond stone and precision grinder [not very scientific but it works].

Have always preferred the Stihl PMX chain myself so only used the Oregon chain once.
