New Oregon EXL Chain - game changer?

Recommended Posts

Notice how both chain hang low after only 2 cuts in dry sycamore.

I'll try to take another video with fresh green wood over the weekend.

Hmm, yes both had equal chain stretch.
That new chain looks more aggressive and about 2 seconds faster (second cut) than the standard chain in the second video

The general opinion between me and a couple of my subbies, is there is no difference between the EXL and the LPX. We have been ringing up ash all morning with both in a blind test and none of us could tell the difference.

I counted
LPX 1st cut 17 seconds
2nd cut 15 seconds

EXL 1st cut 16 seconds
2nd cut 15 seconds

Cheers for vids Rough Didn’t time anything but to be honest the LPX looked to cut smoother and faster than the EXL..... But the proof is in the times i guess.
