Very honourable advice gentlemen. emoji106.png
However I'm struggling to feed my own family right now.
But I've worked with enough ex military to know they're gold dust employees.

Well mate, all you can possibly do, is lock everyting up as well as you can. Might be worth investing in some kind of bollard in front of your place, anything that slows them down or inconveniences them enough to feckoff somewhere else. Make it as bomb proof as you can.  Loud alarms and strobe lights are good at attracting attention. The idea is to make them bugger off somewhere else. You can get gizmo's that will text you if they move, I think motorbike places sell them, you could attach them to said bollard.
Despite what many say, confronting a few wronguns, and it will be a few, in your boxer shorts with a pick axe handle probable isn't going to work out too well for you.

You're right Mark, 100%.
Always phone the police first...

Realistically though, I'm only going to keep a few hand tools and a trailer on site.
The main reason is I need storage for logs and timber I cut.

That would be the dangerous thing with it being so close, ur always going to beat the polis there, so u either have to sit and listen to them attempting to smash throu wot ever locks/detterants u've added

Or u do wot most folk would probably do if some low life is stealing ur tools, confront them.

Even if ur lucky enough to come off on the winning side, the chances are those sort of scumbags will turn up again and target u on purpose and really mob handed just to get back at u.

Sadly u can never really win against scum like that who have little to loose and know where u live.

Years ago a mate and another trucker who worked for same company in a layby for the nite heard someone at the wagon desiel tanks, phoned polis who told them to ignore it and trn radio up, the other lad phoned boss who said the same.

My mate loved a good ruck and was itching to get after them but boss had to threaten to sack him if he did as didn't want all his haulage companies wagons targetted, could cost a fortune in long run if a few tyres got slashed, far more than a few tanks of desiel.

Completely wrong but can understand the thinking

We have a number of blocks/ locks/ stages of security. Had a break in the other month and they got through the first door (heavily locked), alarm went off met with other lock ups so ran.

Now put in more stages aswell. But in my eyes our security worked as nothing was taken. There will always be chancers
