LOLER in Central Scotland?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for help to find a LOLER inspector in Central Scotland (Fife ideally).

Backstory;

I'm gradually working my way through qualifications in order to get more into Arb work. So in March 2017 I passed my aerial climbing and rescue, but had no idea at the time I was signing up for required 6-12 month LOLER inspections for all the kit (and a limited service lifetime).

Due to the (substantial for me) costs involved in purchasing the kit, and then the course costs, I couldn't afford to then go through LOLER inspections for kit I wouldn't actually be using on a professional basis for quite some time.

So the kit has essentially been hung up for over a year now. I'd like to actually start using it either for personal development (worried I'll forget everything) or so I can get in touch with some local companies who may need qualified G-men and actually start earning some money from the investment.

Can anyone offer some help and advice for this situation?

Best,

S

It's not that expensive for a small set up - I think I pay around £60 for a climbing or rigging kit.  Have PM'd you with the details of the guy I use.

Plus - if you're not using it commercially ie just for your own personal use in your own time, then it doesn't need LOLERed.  Albeit you might want to do it for peace of mind.

Excellent guys, thanks for the recommendation. I'll give Alan a call tomorrow hopefully (just back home) and see if he can help me out.

Ed - seeing as I haven't used it for any commercial use as of yet (bought it purely for my training) do you think that would affect the overall service life of the kit and it's official date of introduction to service?

I only used it for 4-5 days training and then a couple of practice climbs on local trees since then - and those were only a few months after passing the course. Stopped using it once I got past my 6 month purchase dates, which was annoying because I got my harness for my 30th back in Sep 2016 (again before I knew anything about climbing or LOLER).
