Virtual phone numbers

Recommended Posts

There are loads of companies that will give you a landline number you can divert to a landline.

I have 3 local numbers with the area codes we work in they all direct to the mobile.

The Pocket landline from EE costs me nothing  due to an error when orange moved to EE.

The other 2 are with Tamar and cost £15-£25 a month.

Who is it with? Do you get any drop out in areas that don't have good mobile internet?

No drop out of the virtual number as such but it does rely on you having signal if you divert to a mobile.  Mine is with Tamar Telecom.  £5 per month but London numbers start from £10 per month.

I think you can send faxes to them also using the number and it will covert to a PDF and come through as an email.  Necer tried it though as its a bit old school.  You can just log on to the account also and divert it to different numbers if you want.

I use invoco. Diverts local number to mobile. £2 per month plus some money (6p per minute on incoming calls or something small anyway) mine rarely goes above £5 a month. I pay the extra for it to tell me it’s from the virtual number before it connects me.

I've gone with Tamar in the end after a false start with another company. Geographic number with 2500 minutes divert to mobile for 4.99 a month. Chris at Eden was good enough to refer me which means we both get £25 credit so really the number is free for 5 months. If anyone is thinking of a virtual number then ask for this referral off one of us.
