Yes, probably average 6 stakes from a log. We tend to get 15 years out of them before we think of restaking/replacing.

That's great, longer lifespan than todays tanalised posts. We have just been thinning some oak plantation and had been planning on logging it. This provides another use for some of it and there's always fencing to be done on the farm.
