Charity event.

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

Hopefully this is allowed but delete if not.

I'm a fencing contractor and we have a page on Facebook called Ukfencing.

We are a close community and recently, a very well respected Scottish fencer took his own life.

Alot of us saw Damien Macdougall as a real innovator in the industry, always leading the way with new skills and techniques.

He was a top bloke who always had time to help anyone. I had the pleasure of fencing with him a few years back and working with him gave me a kick up the backside to become a better fencer myself.

Damien was diagnosed with bipolar and had a break down a few years ago, struggling with depression and was in and out of hospital throughout that time. We still kept close contact on Facebook but we didn't realise how unhappy the poor guy was.

The fencers on the Ukfencing page have got together and have decided to have a charity auction in his name to hopefully raise some money for his family.

The event will be held on the 15th of September in Cambridge. There will be camping, a bar and activities for children.

We were wondering if any of you fine gentleman would be kind enough to carve out some fencing pliers so would could auction them off.

If you could accommodate this request please email me [email protected]

Regards

Si Gibbs
