I've always lumped plant cover in with my PL and EL to get a better deal.

I've noticed insurance companies don't like new for old cover now though, I had to kick up a fuss to get mine.
Not sure on the age of your machine but I was told a few years ago that any machine e.g. chipper, that is 3 or more years old is on like for like unless otherwise stated whereas under 3 years is automatically new for old

I think all insurance company’s are on the increase. Arborisk were supposed to be giving me a discount every year but it seems it has actually increased. It was around £1200pa but it is now about £1700. I’m no expert but I’m sure that has increased and not gone down [emoji848].I have added a couple of new saws to that but I still think £500 extra is taking the mic a bit. Next year I will shop around.

Last time we looked there was a big increase 2 or 3k. Including dropping new for old on the small plant.. I shopped around, several companies originally said they would not split the pl and plant but on pushing did. Found it much cheaper for plant with NFU and pl/el with trust.

Yeah pretty irritating how every year even if nothing changes, you make no claims they somehow think charging you a load extra is okay ?

My renewal stayed the same with Arbirisk but with some rediculous terms added.
Their underwriter (Aviva) now insist with no negotiation if you're parked out front with the chipper hitched on & working in the back garden you must have a Wheel Clamp on the chipper for it to be covered.
Same goes for anything on wheels which affects work in my opinion.

Their argument was if you want your gear insured & covered then you won't mind.
My counter argument was if I make it that un-nickable then I don't need your insurance...

They said the theft of chippers is going down with their new policy. I said great so that means it'll be getting cheaper then? They said Nooooooo.... [emoji1]
